4 from MARES
Italian manufacturer Mares is now represented in the UK by Head and has a number of new products on the market:

V32 Proton Ice Extreme regulator
This new Italian regulator has a balanced-diaphragm first-stage with a coldwater kit fitted as standard. Coated with a hard wearing fluoropolymer resin finish, its all-metal second-stage is claimed to be the smallest on the market. It has been tested and approved by the US Navy for use in water temperatures as low as -1.7°C, and the price is £395.

Kaila BC
The Kaila is a BC designed specifically for women. It has dual adjustable shoulder straps, the new MRS Plus integrated-weight system, and a massive 16.5kg of lift in size S. It is plush-lined for added comfort and has the Mares patented Back Protection System. Available in sizes XXS to L, the Kaila is priced at £330.

Nemo Black Passion computer
For the diver to whom style is important, this limited-edition Nemo diving computer-watch has all the features of the standard Nemo, including Wienke RGBM algorithm with deep stops, but is finished in "passionate" black. This is a full-function air and nitrox computer that can also be used in gauge mode and as a bottom timer, and the price is £500.

Quattro Excel fins
The legendary Mares Quattro fin has, we are told, been improved! Better rigidity, new materials, and extensive laboratory testing have been combined to give greater thrust for what the manufacturer says is the same effort. The product is available as a full-foot fin (£50), a conventional strap fin (£110) and, for £120, as a limited-edition fin complete with bag in the Black Passion range.

... and 3 from SCUBAPRO
Scubapro uwatec also has a number of new products on the market, including a new regulator, console and a wetsuit

MK17AF/S555 regulator
Combined with Scubapro's latest high-performance diaphragm balanced
first stage, the latest S555 second stage is billed as eminently suitable for use in very cold or polluted water. Redesigned for 2006, the need for maintenance is said to have been reduced and performance optimised. The S555 is compact
but includes oversize controls, with a big soft purge and a diver-adjustable venturi plus/minus switch. This regulator costs £265.

3-in-line console
For those of you who like to have a variety of instruments located
in one place, the Uwatec 3-in-line console is slim and has a high-pressure gauge fitted at the end of its hose. Here it is shown with an analogue depth-gauge and compass but it can equally house a digital D-Timer and a computer such as the Aladin Prime or Aladin Tech. As shown, it costs £119.

Profile steamer
This stylish-looking suit is said by Scubapro to provide maximum comfort. With zippered double seals at wrists and ankles, it has a fine plush interior that promises to be smooth against the skin and easy to put on and take off. Flat-seam construction and a raw-cut collar neckline are complemented by integrated kneepads for durability. Multi-Flex material is used at the internal section of arms and lower legs. The Profile comes in a range of sizes to suit men and women and in either 5mm or 7mm thicknesses. It costs from £135.

Key-Pod
All dressed up to dive and nowhere to put your car keys? Do you take them in your drysuit and risk them getting embossed on your person under pressure, or getting wet? Hide them in your wheel-arch or under your bumper, handy for a thief?
Key-Pod is a little safe that you can attach to a secure fixed part of your vehicle, such as a towing eye, suspension spring or even a wheel with a locking-nut. Weather-proof, robust and secured using a combination lock, Key-Pod costs £20.

Cressi Penta mask
Latest in a long line of successful mask designs that include extended field-of-view to encompass the diver's chest area, the Penta has side windows and the now-familiar Cressi inverted-teardrop-shaped lenses raked at an angle. The frame and fittings of the Penta are available in eight different colours at £50.

Cressi Ellipse Piston regulator
The high-performance Ellipse regulator is now available with a piston-type first stage with two high-pressure and five medium-pressure ports arranged around a turret. Available with DIN 300, 200 or international A-clamp fitting, it has been developed over many years and has a reputation for reliability and durability. The new compact little oval second stage is technologically similar to the Titanium Ellipse and is identified by its all-rubber front and patented fold-out opening. Price is £241.
