DIVER is Britain's no.1 diving magazine, outselling all its competitors put together, at bookstalls and by direct subscription. It covers every aspect of the sport, especially in the realms of gear testing and surveys, diving holiday destinations, and advances in technology and techniques.
The magazine has an international following and reputation for integrity - "Straight down the line" is its slogan.
Three scuba diving exhibitions, organised by the Diver Group, have indelibly established themselves at the leading edge of such events and are unequalled anywhere. More than 500 exhibition stands are taken up by world renowned companies each year.
The London International Dive Show (LIDS) is held each spring at the ExCel Exhibition Centre in London's docklands and is one of the most important dates in the diving calendar for the industry and divers alike.
Dive - The International Sub-Aqua and Watersports Show - is held every autumn at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), in England's heartland, Birmingham. The popularity and stature of this show is equal to that of London's, and every two years an International Festival of Underwater Film and Photography (Image), the biggest event of its kind in the world, is incorporated.
Dive Scotland was launched in March 2000 at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, Glasgow, and completes this unique dive show trio.
The huge success of these shows is partly due to the attractions laid on for visitors - film shows, photographic exhibitions, seminars, come-and-try-diving sessions, and presentations by world famous divers, including Hans and Lotte Hass, Ron and Valerie Taylor, Sylvia Earle, Jacques Mayol, Stan Waterman and Jean-Michel Cousteau.
Divernet.com, the DIVER Magazine website, was launched in 1996 and fast gained an international reputation. There is full access to Diver Magazine's archives dating back to 1995 and, by January 2003, 1.29million Divernet pages were being downloaded monthly by more than 140,000 unique visitors.
The latest diving news is updated regularly and there are nine lively discussion and message forums. A topical email newsletter, Divernet Xtra, completes this highly successful site.
DYK, the leading title for Scandinavian divers, joined the DIVER Group at the end of September 2001. DYK is published in Swedish and Danish versions and is also circulated in Norway and Finland.
Underwater World Publications (UWP) is a company within the DIVER Group which publishes and distributes a wide range of books for divers. It is the magazine for ocean professionals covering navigation and positioning, ships and salvage, underwater vehicles a n components, ocean instrumentation, survey, mapping and sonar, cable/connectors and winches, research and development, diving and associated services, government and others allied to the field.
