STANDARD KNIVES (11.5-14cm)
In this, the biggest category, the Blandford, IST, Seemann-Sub and Beaver knives revealed their kinship, and had identical sheaths. They were thought very useable and proved good value for money.
The UK Blue Tangs have heavier handles which evoke a feeling of high quality, and again these had very functional locking sheaths, but were in a different price category.
The Technisub Diablos had what were obviously the heaviest stainless-steel blades but, like their slightly smaller siblings, proved difficult to remove safely from their sheaths. The Birchley is cheap and does not pretend otherwise. If you choose this one, be careful you don't cut yourself.
The more expensive Oceanic Titanium knives might be lightweight but they look dark and deadly.
The Ocean Master Titanium appears quietly superior to all of them but it is, after all, the most expensive of the 63 knives in our selection.
