First impressions
We were surprised that a company justly famous for its popular compressed-neoprene drysuits sent a tri-laminate suit for this review. However, it looks smart and well fitted, with an elasticated waist at the back.
Price £470 (includes neoprene hood, hose and bag).
Material and construction Tri-laminate material, double-stitched throughout and neatly taped inside using woven tape. There was evidence of some untidy glueing. The suit was structurally sound.
Boots Heavy-duty boots with tough-looking soles; stylishly finished and neoprene-lined.
Zip A standard cross-shoulder zip with a comfort flap on the inside. The zip cover on the outside is secured shut with velcro. It was all very nicely finished, although there was evidence of superfluous glue around the zip.
Seals The latex medium-weight parallel wrist seals are glued outside and glued and taped inside. The latex bellows-style neck seal is taped both inside and out.
Wrist seal contact length 40mm.
Knee pads The heavy-duty knee pads are well attached and have a large drain hole.
Valves There is an ND auto-dump valve at the shoulder and a rotating Si Tech inflation valve at the left of the chest, with a double layer of neoprene inside to avoid discomfort. The inflation valve has a dust filter. Both valves are mounted on rubber gaskets.
Other features Usable concertina-style pocket, secured closed by velcro. The internal braces are not particularly well attached.
Ease of dressing "It was easy to get on and off."
In the water "It felt familiar and comfortable. It was as if I'd had this suit for years. I did not have to think about using it and I remained perfectly dry throughout the dive."
Approximate weight of test suit 4kg.
Made-to-measure service Yes.
Tested by John Bantin.
