BOTTLENOSE DOLPHIN FACES EXTINCTION IN UK WATERS
The 'Dying Seas' report from the Wildlife Trust concludes that bottlenose dolphins are likely to become extinct in UK waters. The numbers of many dolphin and whale species have halved in past ten years.
The report highlights the impact of destructive fishing techniques in UK waters. Many of the measures that could be taken by the fishing industry to protect dolphins and whales are not being implemented. The report concludes that unless action is taken many species of dolphin and whale will no longer be seen in UK waters.
