PHILIPPINES DEATH

British diver lost in Philippines
It has been reported that a British diver was missing and presumed drowned after going diving with friends off an island in the Philippines.
Andrew Gordon, 31, from Didsbury near Manchester, disappeared after descending with five other divers to enjoy a drift off the island of Mindoro, over canyons at Escarceo Point near Puerto Galera harbour.
Georg Bender, who runs Atlantis Diving Resort in Puerto Galera, from where the group dived, told Diver: "[The other divers] surfaced after a total of eight minutes. They decided to abort the dive because of extreme currents. Andy had lost one fin which he tried to attach to his foot. While doing that he drifted to an area with a strong downward current and disappeared."
Gordon disappeared in early June and searches continued for three weeks on account of the many islands in the area upon which he could have been washed up alive. Nothing was found.
