WRECK RECORD
Deepest open-circuit wreck dive
Divers from the European Technical Dive Centre in Scapa Flow have completed the deepest open-circuit scuba dive on a wreck by descending 131m on to the remains of the British aircraft carrier HMS Dasher. The wreck lies upright in 170m of water midway between Arran and Ardrossan in the lower Clyde, west Scotland. The four-strong team dived on to the ship's flight deck to lay a plate prepared by a relatives' association in memory of the 379 men who died when the carrier was sunk in 1943.
