REBREATHER DEATHS
Two rebreather divers were reported missing, presumed dead in British waters during July.
Mick Brennan was lost while on a 120m-deep wreck dive off Anglesey. Using an Inspiration rebreather, he was with a group of mixed-gas divers known as the Northern Gas Dive Team, using a mixture of rebreathers and open-circuit trimix. He was diving alone at the time of his disappearance.
Meanwhile another man, described as a UK-resident Swiss, disappeared while ascending from a 38m wreck dive five miles off the Isle of Wight. He and his buddy were using Draeger semi-closed rebreathers, and it is reported that the lost diver disappeared from view as the two decompressed at a depth of 15m.
