DIVERS WARNED AFTER NIGHT DIVE NEAR PROTECTED WRECK
Humber Coastguard has warned divers to stay away from the protected wreck of the Bonhomme Richard or face prosecution, after people were seen night diving close to the site.
Bonhomme Richard received emergency protection earlier this year. The historic site is under licence to the Filey Underwater Research Unit and any unauthorised diving of the wreck will result in prosecution.
"We have very good contacts in the local area, and the site is being closely watched. We will not hesitate to take action." A spokesperson for the Coastguard told Divernet.
