Enjoy an underwater wedding - free
It's all a bit last-minute, but if you can decide within the next few days to take part in an underwater wedding in Thailand - as one does - a three-day trip could be yours for free!
Each year, Thai Airways offices worldwide select one couple from the country in which they're operating and send the pair to Trang for the marriage ceremony, which involves couples from all over the world.
Flights, accommodation, meals and transfers are donated by the providers involved, working under the umbrella of the Trang Chamber of Commerce. Participants don wedding outfits and descend a few metres to get 'married' on the seabed at Trang's Pak Meng Beach. Applicants need to possess a basic diving qualification, and are provided with cylinders and weightbelts.
The weddings are not legally binding - but the organisers say they prefer couples who are, in fact, going to get married for real once they return home! The 2006 event takes place from 13-15 February, and applicants from Britain need to apply by 31 January to Thai Airways International's UK office.
