Divers' views sought in English Nature Coasts and Seas consultation
Divers and other sea-users are being asked to take part in a consultation on the future of
Britain's coasts and seas by English Nature.
More than half the UK's biodiversity is found on our coasts and in our seas.
Divers often witness firsthand the impact of overfishing, coastal development
and pollution, which is why English Nature are asking as many divers as possible to give their views in the consultation.
Taking part in the English Nature consultation will help them to best represent divers' views and lobby government for the appropriate action.
The key questions that English Nature are looking to answer are:
To what extent do you agree or disagree with the need for significant change in the way we manage our coasts and seas?
In prioritising our actions for recovery and improved management, what needs to happen first and why?
Are there any significant omissions in our proposed approach? If so, what are they and how do you think we should address them?
Who else do you think should be involved? How can we contact them and involve them in developing our Agenda?
If you have comments, email English Nature by clicking here
You can visit the Coasts and Seas page of English Nature's website here and there are links to the pdf documents which explain the issues behind the consultation, below.
