Scuba kit found close to site of lost divers, Fiji
Scuba kit belonging to 27-year-old trainee diver Danielle Gibbons has been found on a reef close
to the spot where she went missing with diving instructor Dan Granier. The discovery has prompted renewed search efforts.
The search for the two divers had been suspended by the Fijian authorities after two weeks had gone by with no sign of the pair.
The two had gone missing on Tuesday 31 August after being dropped at one end of
the reef at Vatu-i-ra Passage, off Rakiraki.
The family of Danielle Gibbons flew out to Fiji early on in the search, offering a reward
to anyone supplying information about the whereabouts of the pair. The discovery of the scuba equipment
has prompted the suthorities to renew the search effort.
